I just finished watching the season 2 opener and I was wandering if anyone knew whats up with the mysterious long dark haired lady that has eyes for Sam. In a flashback Sam and her were in bed together and it looked she was turning into a werewolf. We know she is not a vampire because she is in the sun. The first time we saw her in season one she was in the road with a dead pig. WE know from watching werewolf movies when we were kids that werewolves attack pigs. Does anyone else have input on this character.

Maryann is a maenad and needs to sacrifice someone for her God. They blow this story line way out of porportion, and it was a very boring long drawn out storyline, it was tourtureous for me. They character is so minimal in the book, I am not sure why Alan decided it needed so much attention.
